THE IMPORTANCE OF SAFETY

EQUIPMENT SAFETY

The Code of Federal Regulations 29 CFR 1910 etc. cover the safety requirements of equipment in the areas of safety guarding, noise exposure, and lock/tagout of energy sources.

Various ANSI standards, such as Z244.1, Z535.4, HPS-1994 and 79-1994, cover such areas of safety as product safety signs and labeling, electrical standards and control of energy sources.

The above is not by any means a complete list of standards and regulations that establish safety requirements for industrial equipment, but are illustrative of the existing standards.

Our company maintains copies of relevant standards and regulations and by company policy designs and manufactures equipment to meet relevant safety standards for the purpose of minimizing any hazard to personnel and property.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

There are a number of ANSI, IEEE, UL and NEMA standards, including the National Electric Code that cover the electrical safety requirements. By company policy we design to the requirements of these standards and utilize to the greatest practicable extent the use of UL-approved electrical components in our equipment.

HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS

There are certain environmental conditions that are defined as hazardous by the National Electric Code, and our company has experience in the design and supply of equipment meeting the most rigorous requirements as defined by Division I, Class I of the Code.

INSTRUCTION MANUALS

Each item of automation equipment is supplied with instruction manuals that cover the topics of safety operation and maintenance.

Each instruction manual includes a complete parts list for the purpose of defining renewal parts for maintenance and repair.
